Race Verdict

Many look to have chances but BENBENS edges the vote representing connections who won the Grade 2 bumper Aintree on Saturday. The 7-year-old has improved leaps and bounds for stepping up to this sort of trip and a 3lb rise for his gritty Newbury success last month looks fairly lenient. Rossmore Lad readily brushed aside Teenage Kicks (who was declared to run at Exeter yesterday) at Towcester latest and should confirm his superiority despite meeting on 8lb worse terms, while Barlow and The Musical Guy rate lively outsiders.

Selection: Benbens        Danger: Rossmore Lad        Alternative: Barlow
