Race Verdict

Although he is undeniably fragile, SHUBAAT won on his first run of the season at Musselburgh and has the potential to be better than a handicapper this year if fulfilling his obvious potential. He's been raised 6lb for his comfortable victory last time but will relish the slow ground and is expected to improve for this stiffer test. Gulf of Naples found an enterprisingly ridden winner too strong at Kempton last time, but pulled 7l clear of the rest of the field, and the handicapper's decision to raise him 8lb is fully warranted. He looks the main danger ahead of stablemate Eternal Heart, who would be a danger to all if taking up the running under Joe Fanning.

Selection: Shubaat        Danger: Gulf of Naples        Alternative: Eternal Heart
