Placed twice in ten starts. Third of 15 behind Half A Crown beaten 5l at 9-1 on his latest outing at Thirsk over 6f (soft) earlier this month. Runs from 10lb out of handicap.
SHAWKANTANGO continues to surprise this year as not only has he transferred his form from Fibresand to Polytrack, he's also run two excellent races since switched back to turf, reeling in the progressive Boucher Garcon to score at Newcastle at the start of the month and going down by just a short-head at Nottingham latest. Derek Shaw's charge has a 5lb rise to contend with now but clearly relishes testing conditions and can get back on the winning trail. The handicapper may have caught up with Boucher Garcon now, although the return of Neil Farley in the saddle is an obvious positive, and he looks to have place claims along with mudlark Highland Warrior.
