Race Verdict

Valmina successfully reverted to this trip at Bath and the runner-up has since gone one better so the 8lb rise isn't unduly harsh. However, preference is for the untapped potential of LADY BAYSIDE, who improved with every run during her first campaign and the ground was probably too fast for her when last seen. Paul Hanagan is an interesting booking for top-weight Spitfire, especially with the John Jenkins string firing on all cylinders, while Ace Of Spies has been in good heart and should have his say.

Selection: Lady Bayside        Danger: Valmina        Alternative: Ace Of Spies
