Race Verdict

The likes of Backtrade, Gabriel's Lad and Sir Fredlot are all reasonably drawn and were running to a similar level of form in their maiden outings last year. However, all three lack a recent run and with the benefit of a pipe-opener behind him, it might be worth chancing SCHOOL FEES can circumvent a wide berth. The selection posted a creditable effort on her reappearance at Folkestone, disputing the lead until weakening late in the day on ground that may have been softer than ideal.

Selection: School Fees        Danger: Backtrade        Alternative: Gabriel's Lad
