Race Verdict

Much depends upon the race-fitness of Ballydoyle's MEMPHIS TENNESSEE, not seen since posting an excellent third in the Irish Derby last summer, less than two lengths behind Treasure Beach. Previously, he'd made the running in The Derby, eventually finishing a close fourth. That form betters the profile of St Leger second, Brown Panther, in a race likely to develop into a tactical battle, with a chance taken that the O'Brien colt is ready to go. Vivacious Vivienne is clear next best whilst an unraced four-year-old who cost just over 3,000gns will at least recoup his purchase price just for turning up.

Selection: Memphis Tennessee        Danger: Brown Panther        Alternative: Vivacious Vivienne
