Race Verdict

JOURNALISTIC looked slightly unlucky not to pick up a maiden in his juvenile campaign, finishing last season with narrow defeats over this trip at Ffos Las and Salisbury. The son of Street Sense is clearly not bombproof but he sets the standard with a rating of 78 and could not be resuming at a better time with the yard in flying form. Kaafel is only 3lb the selection's inferior on official figures and has race-fitness on his side following a comeback run over 1m2f at Doncaster at the end of March. Suffice and Marine Girl look two of the more likely newcomers.

Selection: Journalistic        Danger: Kaafel        Alternative: Suffice
