Race Verdict

Sir Mark Prescott's ATHENIAN has improved race upon race since switched to handicaps, and although denied a hat-trick when touched off into second on slow ground at Newmarket last time, is taken to regain the winning thread now switched to this faster surface. Rivas Rhapsody continues on an upward curve and won't be inconvenienced by a drop in trip so rates the biggest danger, with recent Lingfield scorer Piddie's Power and the consistent Red Larkspur others to warrant inclusion on the shortlist.

Selection: Athenian        Danger: Rivas Rhapsody        Alternative: Piddie's Power
