Race Verdict

The three-year-olds, Shamaal Nibras and Roserrow, get a very useful allowance from their elders but MAWAAKEF is fancied to concede weight all round. John Jenkins' versatile son of Azamour has held his form admirably since winning a heavy-ground handicap at Yarmouth at the start of May and although bumped up another 8lb for pushing Highland Knight close in the Investec Mile at Epsom earlier this month, his attitude in defeat that day was excellent and the form is rock solid. Lightly-raced four-year-old Trade Commissioner is a fascinating contender but he might be one to take on if the rain keeps falling.

Selection: Mawaakef        Danger: Shamaal Nibras        Alternative: Roserrow
