Race Verdict

Pitkin recorded his third victory in 16 days over 6f here last Monday and looks sure to go close again despite a 6lb penalty, but the testing conditions should be more to BEST TRIP's liking. Brian Ellison's gelding followed up his 6f win here with another victory in the mud over 7f at Warwick and, with the drop in trip is no concern, he is taken to defy his penalty. Jack Luey has been knocking on the door and should be thereabouts again.

Selection: Best Trip        Danger: Pitkin        Alternative: Jack Luey
