Race Verdict

AMBIVALENT could barely have been more impressive when making a winning reappearance at Nottingham last month and even a 13lb rise might not be enough to halt his progress. Tamarrud performed with credit at Pontefract last time, leaving the impression there was more to come, so he must come under consideration. Angel Gabrial found only Clon Brulee too good at Chester last week and he is entitled to take a hand here as he is officially 3lb well in as his new mark of 78 does not take effect until tomorrow.

Selection: Ambivalent        Danger: Tamarrud        Alternative: Angel Gabrial
