Race Verdict

MUKHADRAM broke his maiden over this trip on the Rowley Mile in May but failed to convince he stayed 1m2f when weakening into fourth in the Tercentenary Stakes at Ascot last month. The selection had travelled smoothly into contention before he weakened on the soft ground late on, but his rider was not overly hard on him in the finish and better can be expected over this easier test. Haydock Silver Bowl winner Gabrial posted a career-best effort when fifth in the St James's Palace Stakes latest and is feared most. Britannia Stakes runner-up Mister Music and the enigmatic Red Duke complete the shortlist.

Selection: Mukhadram        Danger: Gabrial        Alternative: Mister Music
