Sedgefield officials have announced a second inspection at 9am ahead of this afternoon's National Hunt fixture.
There remains the possibility of waterlogging following an inconclusive precautionary inspection at 9am.
Sedgefield sustained eight millimetres of rainfall on Thursday and into the night.
A statement issued by the track at just after 7am said there were heavy showers this morning and that rain was still falling.
