Nicky Henderson is hoping for a spring campaign with Simonsig.
The grey returned to action after an injury-hit three years with a promising effort over hurdles behind stablemate Bobs Worth
He was declared for the Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown earlier this month but was a late withdrawal due to a splint problem, an issue which has troubled him previously, although this was a completely new injury.
Speaking in his blog on www.StanJames.com, Henderson said: " Simonsig has returned to full soundness and we are pleased with where he is.
"It took until the beginning of the following week to get him back sound again after he was lame on the eve of the Tingle Creek, so he's having a week on the water treadmill, swimming and all sorts of things. We plan to ride him in again in about a week's time.
"This has set him back but, if all went well, he would be ready for March and a spring campaign."
