This afternoon's meeting at Sedgefield goes ahead after the track passed an inspection.
Clerk of the course Sophie Barton had planned to check conditions at 8am but was able to give the go-ahead earlier than planned, although she is maintaining a watching brief with rain still falling.
She said: "It's wet but we are raceable at present.
"It's currently still raining but the forecaster tells me the majority of it could miss us which I'm hopeful for.
"We could get another 10 millimetres but I'm hoping the track can take that on top of what we've had already. We are continuing to monitor it."
