Petit Mouchoir and Valseur Lido on course for Christmas appearances

Connections are targeting Christmas redemption with Petit Mouchoir following his fall in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle last month.

The grey looked set to fight out the finish of the Grade One contest until crashing out three flights from the finish.

Henry de Bromhead reports that his charge has schooled well since and is on course for an appearance over the Festive period.

The Gigginstown House Stud-owned gelding holds entries in the Squared Financial Christmas Hurdle and the Ryanair Hurdle at Leopardstown.

"He's in good form. He schooled earlier in the week and jumped really well," said de Bromhead.

"We'll aim him for something at Christmas and he has entries in both the Grade One hurdles."

Valseur Lido is reported in fine form as he gears up for his Christmas target.

The seven-year-old made an excellent start for De Bromhead when running out an easy winner of the JNwine.com Champion Chase at Down Royal early last month.

He holds entries in both the King George and the Lexus Chase and although the latter has been mooted as the preferred target, no decision will be made until closer to the date.

"He's been well. He's working nicely and is in good form," said de Bromhead.

"He's being aimed at Christmas and we'll see nearer the time (where he goes)."
