Present Man proves December king at Doncaster

Present Man made all the running as he continued his winning ways in the Bet365 December Novices' Chase at Doncaster.

Taking his tally over fences to three and completing a double for trainer Paul Nicholls after All Set To Go earlier on the card, the 5-1 winner came home in front despite jumping out to the right.

Jack Sherwood kept him on an even keel and had enough left in the tank to beat Potters Legend by a length and three-quarters and take Grade Two honours.

O O Seven, the 4-7 favourite, was only third after never being able to deliver a serious challenge.

Nicholls was at Cheltenham, where he said: "He's just keeps improving and improving. I was a bit worried about going left-handed as he can go a bit right, as you saw today.

"He's a little bit quirky, but Jack Sherwood gets on so well with him and seems to get on well with the quirky ones. I'm pleased for Jack having a winner like that.

"I might be brave and stick him in the Feltham (Kauto Star Novices' Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day), as we've got nothing to lose."
