The son of New Approach from the exceptional family of Galileo and Sea The Stars broke his maiden in the May of his juvenile season, beating no less than future top sprinter Invincible Army in the process. He went on to win the Solario Stakes and to finish third in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere and Chesham Stakes that season.

Masar won the Craven Stakes by nine lengths and finished a good third to Saxon Warrior in the 2,000 Guineas before turning the tables on that rival and the subsequent European champion Roaring Lion in the Derby.

He had seven yearlings sell for six-figure prices at auction in 2022, led by a half-brother to Reckoning, the Listed-placed dam of Subjectivist, who was bought by Godolphin for 350,000gns.

Masar stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £14,000.
