First-crop daughter Enable emerged from his first crop and won the Oaks en route to becoming one of the best racemares of the modern era, while Channel scored in a competitive renewal of the Prix de Diane a few years later.

The sire’s third Classic winner arrived this season, when Desert Crown ran away with the Derby to remain unbeaten in three starts. He is expected to take high rank in the middle-distance division when he returns from injury in 2023.

Nathaniel has supplied the other Group 1 winners God Given, Lady Bowthorpe and Mutamakina, among 49 black-type performers on his roll of honour. He is also the damsire of classy performers Haskoy, Novakai, Silver Knott, Tribalist and Zellie.

The son of Galileo stands at Newsells Park Stud at a fee of £15,000.
