The top-level scorers in question were Anmaat, who struck in the Prix d’Ispahan, and Anisette, who took the Del Mar Oaks.

The Classic-winning son of Cape Cross also delivered this year’s Chester Listed victor Al Qareem, Australian stakes scorers Diamil and Maktoob, and black type-placed Naomi Lapaglia and Waterford, as well as classy handicappers Austrian Theory, Isla Kai and Solent Gateway.

Awtaad often does well at the horses in training sales, and his winning son Ethical Diamond sold to Willie Mullins and Harold Kirk for a blockbuster 320,000gns at the Tattersalls July Sale in the summer.

He also had lots sell for 80,000gns, 75,000gns and 52,000gns at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale later in the year.
