Teofilo is the only active stallion with a Group/Grade 1 winner in every one of his first 11 crops, joining A.P. Indy, Deep Impact, Mr Prospector and Shamardal, as well as sire Galileo and grandsire Sadler’s Wells.
He is the source of 24 top-flight winners in total, including Classic scorers Pleascach, Trading Leather and Voleuse De Coeurs, international stars Donjah, Exultant, Happy Clapper, Humidor, Kermadec and Palentino, and Gold Cup hero Subjectivist.
This year he achieved the remarkable feat of delivering his third Melbourne Cup winner in six years, with Without A Fight joining Twilight Payment and Cross Counter on the roll of honour for the race that stops a nation.
Teofilo has also laid down the foundations of a thriving male line, as his son Havana Gold is the sire of second-crop phenomenon Havana Grey.
Furthermore, he is the damsire of Classic winners Cachet, Coroebus, Mac Swiney and Toskana Belle, as well as of Group 1-winning fillies and mares Anisette and Dreamloper.
