Ed Vaughan weighs up plans for all-weather ace Si Senor

Si Senor is likely to run again in the next two weeks following his win at Lingfield on Saturday before possibly stepping up to a mile and a quarter in the Coral Winter Derby back at the Surrey venue.

Trainer Ed Vaughan is leaning more towards another race over a mile at Lingfield on February 13 for the five-year-old rather than an option at Wolverhampton next Monday.

The Winter Derby is a fast-track qualifier for the all-weather championships on Good Friday, which is also at the back of Vaughan's mind.

"He's come out of the race absolutely fine and I'll see what the handicapper does to him," said the Newmarket handler.

"There's an option for him on February 8 and Lingfield on the 13th which might be more likely.

"We will try him at a mile and a quarter at one stage. My feeling is he travelled so well the other day that a mile is his trip, but he has an entry over the longer distance in the Winter Derby.

"We might take a chance and run him. We'll see. He'll run once more before then, anyway.

"We've also got an eye on Good Friday. He'll have two runs before then. The next run will tell us where we're going."
