Kempton scorer Josses Hill back in business for Nicky Henderson

Josses Hill went some way to getting his career back on track with a good performance in the Racing UK 3 Devices 1 Price Graduation Chase at Kempton.

Nicky Henderson's eight-year-old has been something of a mixed bag over fences to date, despite finishing third in the Arkle last year.

On his only other outing this season, Josses Hill took a crashing fall in the Tingle Creek Chase and he had undergone extensive schooling at home.

Jumping big and safe in the early stages, Nico de Boinville set out to make every yard of the running.

Turning into the straight, God's Own, who finished one place in front of Josses Hill in the Arkle, seemed to be going well for Paddy Brennan and they jumped the second-last together.

Whereas God's Own appeared to blow up on his first outing for over 100 days, and trying to give the winner 7lb, Josses Hill (10-11 favourite) galloped right to the line, pulling eight lengths clear, with Aso losing very little in third.

Henderson said: "That was the perfect race for him and it was good to get that confidence into him.

"He was a good third in the Arkle but he is better going right-handed, the better the pace the better he is.

"The Ryanair is the much more likely race, while Punchestown would be good fun.

"He'll have gained plenty of confidence from that as it was a shocking fall he had at Sandown.

"That was the best he's ever jumped. He is talented but his mark is ferocious for being third in the Arkle."
