Ma Du Fou cashes in with Banks success at Huntingdon

Ma Du Fou was a tremendously game winner of the feature 32Red Sidney Banks Memorial Novices' Hurdle at Huntngdon for Warren Greatrex and Gavin Sheehan.

The six-year-old was a 3-1 chance to complete a hat-trick following previous triumphs at Ffos Las and Bangor and was ridden positively from the outset.

Ma Du Fou cruised to the lead after the pacesetting Justanother Muddle began to weaken heading down the back straight, and he had most of his rivals in trouble as he rounded the home turn.

The only horse still travelling in behind at the top of the straight was North Hill Harvey, but try as he might, he could not get by the Greatrex runner, who found more after the final flight to take top honours by a length and a quarter.

Hot favourite Minella Awards was under pressure a long way from home and finished a disappointing fifth of the six runners.
