The Tattersalls Ireland Ascot Breeze Up Sale saw a significant increase in the number of horses offered for selection for the first Breeze Up Sale in Europe in 2016. This has resulted in the strongest catalogue ever assembled with numbers increasing to 102 lots this year.

The Wow Signal (pictured), a £50,000 purchase at the 2014 sale, demonstrates how this sale is perfectly timed to allow two year old graduates run at Royal Ascot. The said two year old winning the Gr.2 Coventry Stakes and going on to take the Prix Morny Gr.1 at Longchamp. First Selection has handsomely repaid Simon Crisford, who in his first season of training, purchased the first lot through the ring last year for £42,000, by winning the Solario Stakes Gr.3 at Sandown, having progressed from his Royal Ascot run and finished the season being beaten only 1¾ lengths in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagadere Gr.1 at Longchamp.

This year’s catalogue offers some choice pedigrees with siblings to or progeny out of black type performers including Argentero, Areen, Chandlery, Coy, Dressed In Fur, Hawksmoor, Lilium, Music Theory, Ornate, Ossun, Saayer, Sister Trouble, Squash to name just a few.

There are some outstanding sires with progeny on offer including Bated Breath, Canford Cliffs, Dark Angel, Dream Ahead, Elusive Quality, Exceed and Excel, Footstepsinthesand, Harbour Watch, Holy Roman Emperor, Invincible Spirit, Kodiac, Kyllachy, Lonhro, Loup de Vega, Mayson, Makfi, Power, Requinto, Sepoy and Sir Prancelot.

The hard copy of the catalogue will be available on Friday 4 March and is now available online at www.tattersalls.ie
