Racing journalist and presenter Brian Gleeson has his fingers crossed for a big run from Dont Tell No One in the Surehaul Mercedes-Benz Novice Hurdle at Clonmel on Thursday.

The unbeaten Dermot Weld-trained eight-year-old has only made it to the track twice in an injury-hit career.

But in just the two runs, he has demonstrated a fair amount of ability, winning a Galway bumper back in 2013 before reappearing after a lengthy absence to win at Fairyhouse on New Year's Day.

Gleeson, who makes regular appearances on Channel 4 and RTE, also bred the Westerner gelding, so has more riding on it than most.

"Obviously I hope he runs well as I bred him as well," said Gleeson.

"I also bred his half-brother, Go All The Way, who finished fourth in the Cheltenham Bumper a few years ago for Nigel Twiston-Davies.

"I'm living in the hope department. I hope he can get me some black type to boost the pedigree."

Mags Mullins runs Last Encounter, last seen finishing second in Grade One company behind Bellshill.

"I was delighted with his run at Naas and I'd like to try to get his head in front if we can, but that isn't easy as all these races are very competitive," she said.

Champion trainer Willie Mullins runs the Gigginstown duo Arkwrisht and Stone Hard, with Gordon Elliott's Roman Gold also representing Michael O'Leary's operation.

Elliott sends out a second runner in Westend Star, while Sandra Hughes' Side Saddle completes the seven-strong field.
