Fixe Le Kap will aim to join an extremely strong team of four-year-olds for his owners in the JCB Triumph Hurdle by booking his spot in the Ray Gilpin Victor Ludorum Juvenile Hurdle at Haydock on February 20.

With Alan King's Sceau Royal and Willie Mullins' Footpad already having secured their places at the Festival for Simon Munir and Isaac Souede, Nicky Henderson's Fixe Le Kap will be looking to add a third win to his British record on Merseyside.

Anthony Bromley, who acts as racing manager to Munir and Souede, has also bought several leading Triumph candidates for other clients and feels the juveniles are a strong bunch this season.

"At the moment the intention is to run all three," said Bromley.

"Footpad and Sceau Royal will now go straight there but the intended target for Fixe Le Kap is the Victor Ludorum at Haydock on February 20. If he comes through that that it's likely he will line up too.

"I also bought Paul Nicholls' Tommy Silver for Potensis Bloodstock, who also have a share in Clan Des Obeaux, and I bought Who Dares Wins and Gibralfaro for Alan King, so I'm in a good position.

"There still could be a couple to come out yet, the Adonis is always a hot race.

"I'm convinced they are a strong bunch this year. Usually when you have an open Grade One people say it is because they are not an outstanding bunch but I'm convinced the horses bought from Auteuil this year are really nice long-term prospects, not just the ones we managed to buy.

"There aren't many that are ex-Flat types, they've got size and scope about them.

"If it dries up then it will obviously suit an ex-Flat horse like Ivanovich Gorbatov, though.

"It will be interesting to see how the Fred Winter is affected this year as more of them go for a supposedly open Grade One."
