One of the most exciting stallions announcements this season has been that the first son of Deep Impact will be standing in Italy.

He comes in the shape of the Gr.3 winning 2yo Danon Ballade who went on to win five races in total including Gr.2 American Jockey Club Cup and earned nearly £2.5 million in prize money.

As a 3yo he was third in Japanese 2000 Guineas Gr.1. He was beaten there by Japanese Triple Crown winner ORFEVRE who was later campaigned successfully in Europe winning Gr.2 Prix Foy twice as well as being runner up in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in both 2012 and 2013.

One of his best performances was actually in defeat when second behind the global superstar Gold Ship in the Gr.1 Takarazuka Kinen. Here he finished in front of a host of Gr.1 winners including the £12million earner Gentildonna

DANON BALLADE is from a family of sires, from the same female line as a host of successful stallions including RAHY, SINGSPIEL, RAKEEN, SLIGO BAY and DANON CHANTILLY.

His owners Simone Esposito and Tarik Tekce are very confident about the future for Danon Ballade. Simone Esposito commented: "His first foals born in Japan last year look fantastic. Danon Ballade is a very attractive, intelligent horse and we are very confident that he will hit the ground running with top class performers in his first crops – just as the closely related Danon Chantilly and Campanologist did."

His legendary sire DEEP IMPACT was Champion First Season sire in Japan in 2010 and has been the leading sire in Japan since 2012. In all he has already sired over 90 Stakes winners who between them have won over 185 Stakes races.
