Aloomomo to swerve Kempton in favour of Cheltenham Festival bid

Connections of Aloomomo have had a change of heart after deciding to swerve a tilt at next month's BetBright Chase at Kempton in favour of an outing at the Cheltenham Festival.

Plans had been in place to run the six-year-old, who is three from three over fences this season, in the Grade Three contest on February 27.

Following further discussions, the Warren Greatrex-trained gelding will now head for either the Ultima Business Solutions Handicap Chase, for which he is a general 16-1 second-favourite, or the Brown Advisory Plate.

Greatrex said: "It was the plan to go to Kempton for the BetBright, but the bookmakers have him near enough favourite for two races at Cheltenham.

"He will have entries in the Ultima Business Solutions Chase and the Brown Advisory Plate.

"If the ground is on the quick side he will run over three miles (Ultima), while if it's on the soft side he will go for a race over two and half miles (Brown Advisory).

"He might have a run over hurdles in February.

"I'm with them (owners) as I think he will handle Cheltenham and he will get in there off a mark of 140. We don't know how good he is going to be yet.
