Alpha Des Obeaux powers to Galmoy success

Alpha Des Obeaux turned in a fine round of jumping to land the John Mulhern Galmoy Hurdle at Gowran Park.

Bryan Cooper was supremely confident about the Mouse Morris-trained runner, who was sent off the 13-8 favourite.

It looked like being a battle between the market leader and Martello Tower until that one clattered the fourth-last flight.

While he stayed on his feet, he handed the advantage to Alpha Des Obeaux who found more in the straight to notch an authoritative 11-length success.

At Fishers Cross stayed on for second for Rebecca Curtis.
