Fast pace in Champion Hurdle ideal for Tent - Nicky Henderson

Nicky Henderson feels the returning My Tent Or Yours would be one of only a few suited by the likely end-to-end gallop set by Faugheen in the StanJames.com Champion Hurdle.

Second to Jezki two years ago when he pulled ferociously hard in the early stages of the race, Henderson is quite glad there will be at least a strong pace to help him settle.

However, My Tent Or Yours has not run since April 2014, with his return set for the Kingwell Hurdle at Wincanton, just a month before the Cheltenham Festival.

Henderson also believes his Triumph Hurdle winner Peace And Co, who missed an intended outing at Haydock last week, would be another to benefit from Faugheen's strong pace.

"Wincanton is the plan for My Tent, as far as the Champion Hurdle is concerned he needs a run," Henderson said.

"He's currently in good order, we've got work to do but he's on schedule for Wincanton.

"If he gets there in one piece he'll come on a lot, we'll probably take him away for a spin before Wincanton which should put him right for there.

"We just have to be careful with things like 'bounce' factors which come into our lives, but we'll have to cross those bridges when we get to them.

"If Faugheen goes off at a good gallop this is the one horse it will suit, and Peace And Co to be fair.

"At least he'd be able to travel, he wouldn't be in trouble early, these two could sit on Faugheen's tail - whether they'd pass him is a completely different matter, but they'll follow him all right.

"Peace And Co just had a couple of days off, he was sore in his back but it's sorted now. He'll work at the weekend with a view to going to Sandown for the Contenders next weekend."

Of his other stable stars, Sprinter Sacre and Simonsig, Henderson told Racing UK: " Sprinter is in good form, he's just about finished his quiet time and we'll start to build him up towards March.

"He's had a spell of taking it easy and won't do anything drastic in the near future.

"Simonsig has a time schedule that is going to be tight, I'm a bit more worried about him."
