Fixe Le Cap was promoted to second-favourite for the JCB Triumph Hurdle after strolling to victory in the Lighthorne Lamb Juvenile Hurdle at Warwick.

Nicky Henderson's youngster maintained his unbeaten record in Britain in effortless fashion under Daryl Jacob, jumping with aplomb.

Given his head turning for home he pulled 28-lengths clear of Three Colours Red to land odds of 30-100.

Paddy Power immediately went 10-1 from 16 for the Triumph at Cheltenham in March.

Henderson said: "He's a hard horse to weigh up, especially if you see what we see at home.

"He wouldn't give any indication, he comes out each morning and wants to play around, he's full of life but his work is mysteriously boring.

"Daryl rode him on Saturday with two quite nice horses but he couldn't, or didn't want to, go with them. He's got a lovely attitude to life.

"His life is very much in front of him, he jumps beautifully and loves this sort of ground so we may as well plough on and have a look at him in a better race."

Assessing options before the Festival, Henderson told Racing UK: "The obvious one is the Victor Ludorum at Haydock, I don't see Kempton being his track, Haydock is sharp as well but the ground will be slower there.

"We were half-thinking we might get a mark for the Fred Winter, but I think we've kissed goodbye to that.

"I don't think we'd run him on fast ground but good ground would be OK, we just need to see him in a race with a bit of pace.

"Stamina and fences will be his real strength, I've told the owners he could be next year's Bristol De Mai."
