Gordon Elliott keeps faith in Leopardstown-bound Tombstone

Gordon Elliott is hoping Tombstone can redeem himself after a narrow defeat on his latest start when he lines up in the Deloitte Novice Hurdle back at Leopardstown on February 6.

The County Meath handler was deflated after the six-year-old went down by three-quarters of a length to Long Dog in the Paddy Power Future Champions Novice Hurdle, but has not lost any faith in the horse's ability.

"He'll go to Leopardstown in a couple of weeks," Elliott told Racing UK.

"I was very disappointed the last day. I thought he'd win and we were a bit unlucky we didn't win.

"I think he's a good horse. I still have to decide going to Cheltenham whether he'll go two miles or further, but he came out of the race well and we are looking forward to learning more the next day.

"I think he's a very good horse."
