Sandy Thomson is to give Seeyouatmidnight an entry in the National Hunt Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in case conditions turn out to be too quick for a shot at the RSA Chase.

While the RSA Chase contest remains the primary target for the eight-year-old, winner of the Dipper Novices' Chase at the track on New Year's Day, the four-mile contest could come into consideration as a potential back-up option,.

Before that, Seeyouatmidnight remains on course to tackle the Grade Two Towton Novices' Chase at Wetherby on February 6.

He said: "Seeyouatmidnight is good and he has just had a quiet week.

"He will go to Wetherby next for the Towton, that is the plan.

"Everything impressed me at Cheltenham, the way he jumped and travelled, and even though he was low at times he got away from the fences quickly.

"His pedigree is pretty stout enough, so I see no reason to think why he wouldn't be better over three miles.

"The RSA is still very much the plan after Wetherby as some in that race might go for the Gold Cup.

"Hopefully the ground will be all right for him in the RSA, but we will give him an entry in the National Hunt Chase in case it comes up slightly quicker.

"However, the RSA is the main target."
