Henry Candy will run his two stable stars Twilight Son and Limato against each other in the Darley July Cup if the ground is suitable.

Limato has only had the one outing this season in the Lockinge in May.

He was supposed to run in the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot but Candy pulled him out hoping the ground later in the week would be suitable, however, he missed the meeting altogether.

In his absence Twilight Son won the Diamond Jubilee.

"It's a nightmare scenario, I hate running two horses in the same race," Candy told At The Races.

"It will need to dry up for Limato and while you can never really tell what the weather is going to do, it looks to me as if the next 10 days are going to be pretty unsettled, but you never know.

"But, if it does dry up and is good, summer ground then they'll both run.

"I think Limato is getting better and better. He's grown and he's strengthened, it's just been so frustrating not being able to run him on proper ground."
