Connections of Hardwicke Stakes hero Dartmouth have stressed it is too early to discuss where his next start is likely to be.

The four-year-old gave the Queen a late 90th birthday present at Royal Ascot after surviving a stewards' inquiry before being confirmed as the winner of the Group Two prize, adding to his previous wins this season in the Ormonde Stakes and John Porter Stakes

Although the Sir Michael Stoute-trained son of Dubawi holds an entry in next month's Princess of Wales's Stakes at Newmarket and the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes has been mentioned, plans remain fluid.

The Queen's bloodstock advisor John Warren said : "It was an amazing day at Ascot and really exciting.

"We won't be making any statement regarding Dartmouth as we are still getting our head around it. It is too early to make any plans yet."
