Warren Greatrex sets out Sandown aim for The Nipper

Warren Greatrex is to step unbeaten mare The Nipper up to Listed company on her next start ahead of a potential trip to the Punchestown Festival.

The Upper Lambourn handler has set his sights on running the five-year-old mare, who has won each of her two starts to date, in the EBF Stallions/TBA Mares Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race at Sandown a week on Saturday.

He said: "The Nipper has won two from two at Bangor and is very smart. She is quite different to La Bague Au Roi as she is built like a man.

"Whereas La Bague Au Roi is very tall, The Nipper is very strong and she handles soft ground. I think Sandown will be right up her street as she is a real grinder.

"She would not have real gears like La Bague Au Roi. I might go to Punchestown afterwards."
