Connections of Ainippe are to discuss the next step for the smart filly after she took minor honours behind two race-fit rivals at the Curragh on Monday.

The Ger Lyons-trained four-year-old was only beaten a length and a half in third place in the Group Three Athasi Stakes won by Dolce Strega.

Ainippe, who was having her first start since finishing third in the Group One Matron Stakes at Leopardstown in September, was conceding 15lb to the winner and 3lb to runner-up Steip Amach.

"She had a big weight and was running on softer ground than ideal," said David Redvers, racing manager to owners Qatar Racing.

"She's never won on anything slower than good. The ground blunted her speed a bit.

"She made a lovely seasonal debut against two fillies who have had runs, so we're very happy.

"We have still to have a chat about the next route."

Ainippe has early-closing entries in the Lanwades Stud Stakes, the TRM Ballyogan Stakes, both at the Curragh, and the Duke of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot.
