Andre Fabre not expecting Proconsul debut fireworks

Andre Fabre is not expecting any fireworks when Frankel's brother Proconsul makes his racecourse debut at Chantilly on Friday.

Like his illustrious sibling, Proconsul is owned by Khalid Abdullah and at one stage held an entry in the 2016 Investec Derby.

However, he never made it to the racecourse as a two-year-old and Fabre does not think there are any similarities between the pair.

"He is a very laid-back individual," said Fabre.

"There is no doubt that he will come on for the run, it will do him some good.

"He never actually had any problems last year. He came late into training and has just taken time.

"Some horses do, some horses pick it up quickly, but he has certainly taken time.

"He is very different from his brother."

Proconsul is one of 12 runners in the Prix de Joinville in which he will be ridden by Vincent Cheminaud.
