Goffs Land Rover Sale graduates have excelled on the track in recent years and it is no surprise that the demand for places in 2016 for top class horses has led to an additional day of Part 1 horses (Tuesday and Wednesday 7th- 8th June) with Part 2 (Thursday 9th June) completing an outstanding catalogue of 610 lots. There will be a full inspection day on Monday 6th June when all horses will be available for viewing.

The Land Rover Sale has been the leading Store Sale at the Cheltenham Festival for the last three years outperforming all the competition with more winners than any other in 2014 (5 versus none), more Grade 1 winners in 2015 (Faugheen and Martello Tower) and again more Grade 1 winners this year with Altior (pictured) and Black Hercules flying the Goffs flag. Success at the highest level continued for graduates of the sale at both the Aintree and Punchestown Festivals represented by God’s Own and Blow by Blow. Faugheen has also been a spectacular representative for the Land Rover Sale and started 2016 in magnificent style when demolishing his opposition to win the Irish Champion Hurdle and take his Grade 1 tally to seven.

There are numerous stand out lots in this year’s sale and among them are horses by Flemensfirth, Stowaway, Court Cave, Gold Well, Getaway, Oscar, Shantou, Presenting,  Milan, Robin Des Champs, Kayf Tara, Sholokhov, Walk In The Park, Network, Crillon, Beneficial etc. Some of the highlights may include:

  • Milan full brother to Grade 1 placed and Grade 2 winner Duke Of Lucca (Lot 14)
  • Flemensfirth full brother to Grade 1 placed O O Seven (Lot 81)
  • Milan brother to Grade 1 winner and placed China Rock, & full brother to Grade 3 placed Barrakilla (Lot 83)
  • Westerner brother to Grade 1 placed and Grade 2 winner Katie T (Lot 110)

The 2016 renewal of the Land Rover Sale has been tremendously supported by some of the leading vendors in the industry and as well as including large drafts from Ballincurrig House Stud, Peter Nolan Bloodstock, Rathmore Stud, Galbertstown Stud, Brown Island Stables and Glenwood Stud, the catalogue also includes drafts from Kilmoney Cottage Stud, the vendors of Cheltenham winner Altior, the consignors of last year’s top priced horse Clifton Farm, Haras des Loges, White Horse Stud, Liss House, Distillery Stud, Yorton Farm, Mill House Stud, Lakefield Farm, Limekiln Stud and the successful vendor of the 2016 Land Rover Bumper Winner, and proud owner of a brand new Land Rover, Oak Tree Farm.

Commenting on the 2016 Land Rover Sale catalogue, Goffs Chief Executive Henry Beeby said:  “We were blown away by the flood of applications for places this year especially when we saw the consistent quality of what we were being offered. The result is an expanded catalogue of real quality with a two day Part 1 sale on Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by a full day on Thursday. Our experienced team of NH inspectors are adamant that the catalogue is the best yet with top class jumpers of the future available on all three days.

“Land Rover graduates are consistently proving to be the equal of any on the racecourse and we have no doubt that this is absolutely a premier National Hunt Sale that is a must attend event for purchasers of the best NH horses as it truly features many of the best NH Stores on the market this year”.
