Fellowes hoping Prince can reign in Newbury date

Charlie Fellowes believes Prince Of Arran can successfully make the transition from handicap company and establish himself at Listed level later in the campaign.

After being forced to miss the Investec Derby trial at Epsom last month on account of the ground not being suitable, the three-year-old will now bid to follow up his recent victory at Kempton in the valuable Al Zubarah London Gold Cup at Newbury a week on Saturday.

The Newmarket handler said: "The plan is to go to Newbury for the London Gold Cup next weekend. He runs there off 84 which to me makes him very well handicapped.

"He looks a million dollars at home and the plan is to gallop him on Friday. Newbury will suit him down to the ground and it will help us decide where we go next with him.

"I would be very hopeful that he will prove to be up to at least Listed class in the future."
