John Gosden's Linguistic, impressive winner of a sales race at Newmarket's Craven meeting, is one of eight runners in Chester's Betdaq Dee Stakes on Friday.

He will need to fend off two runners from Ballydoyle as Aidan O'Brien fields both Cook Islands, who was fourth in the Ballysax, and recent Dundalk winner Housesofparliament.

Charlie Hills runs High Grounds, third behind Midterm at Sandown, with Sir Michael Stoute represented by Platitude.

Richard Hannon's Viren's Army, Ismail Mohammed's Ban Shoof and Andrew Balding's Kingston Kurrajong complete the list.
