Marcus Tregoning is in no hurry to map out a plan for smart filly Alamode.
The daughter of Sir Percy won one of her four starts last term but posted a particularly eyecatching effort when finishing second in the Oh So Sharp Stakes at Newmarket in October.
She was subsequently well beaten in a Listed heat at Newbury and Tregoning reports the filly to be making steady progress at home.
He said: "She's just been a bit slow to come to hand. She's in full work and everything, but she's just been a little bit backwards.
"Obviously with fillies these things can turn themselves around in a matter of two weeks, but there is no hurry with her.
"I'd say on breeding she will definitely get further this year and I would hope she would stay a mile and a quarter, but there's no point in making any kind of plans yet.
"She is only a small filly. I had a filly called Dominica who was only 15 hands a few years ago and she came out and won the King's Stand first time out at three, so these fillies maybe don't need too much work."
Tregoning has had just a handful of runners so far this term and he feels no need to press his team into action.
He said: "We haven't had a lot of runners yet this year, but the ones that have run have run well.
"They've taken their time but there's no point rushing them to the track as I know when they get there, they will be ready to go through the summer."
