Following yesterday’s strong demand for Horses In Training, the Goffs HIT & Open Yearling Sale concluded with a full day of yearlings today that recorded an 81% clearance rate.

A daughter of Raven’s Pass out of a sister to the Group 1 placed Redolent (Lot 198) from Lumville Farm topped the yearling trade when selling to Friarstown Stables for €38,000, followed later by a €36,000 Pivotal filly out a Stakes placed dam (Lot 242 - pictured) from the same draft that also went to Friarstown Stables.  Full results are available here.

Commenting on the two day sale, Goffs Chief Executive Henry Beeby said: “For the second time this week Goffs has returned a strong two day trade for HIT and commercial yearlings.

"Following a superb trade for HIT at Doncaster on Tuesday we enjoyed an equally strong HIT market yesterday with a larger catalogue, a big rise in the average price and a stunning 90% clearance rate, all headed by a top price of €200,000. As ever we are especially indebted to The Aga Khan Studs for their superb support of this sale and we are just delighted that their faith is consistently rewarded in the sales ring as this was the highest price at this sale for many a year.

"Whilst today’s yearlings will not provoke any headlines there has been plenty of interest throughout the day with no shortage of bidders for those lots that held the most appeal with competition from home and abroad. Indeed this is a sale that has made significant progress in recent years and regularly exceeds expectations.

"We are grateful to every vendor and purchaser for their business and now look forward to the market leading November Foal and Breeding Stock Sale which, of course, is headed by the much anticipated second part of the Wildenstein Stables Ltd Dispersal”.
