Vibrato Valtat is set to make his seasonal reappearance in the next few weeks at either Aintree or Exeter.

The Old Roan Chase at Aintree on October 23 and the Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter on November 1, both sponsored by 188Bet, are the races connections have in mind as a starting point.

The Paul Nicholls-trained grey, who won the Exeter feature last autumn, is reported to be well on the way fitness-wise to return to the track.

"He's doing well and he'll be either going to Exeter for the Haldon Gold Cup, which he won last year, or he could go to the Old Roan. That's a week on Sunday," said Dan Downie, racing manager for the Axom syndicate that owns the grey.

"He's done well and he's pretty forward. We'll take a view nearer the time."

Axom also have smart hurdler Irving with Nicholls and he is on course to try for back-to-back victories in the Stan James Elite Hurdle at Wincanton for his seasonal debut on November 5.

"He will probably go for the Elite Hurdle again at Wincanton," said Downie.
