The Weatherbys Return of Mares supplement is published today and contains all foalings registered during 2017 - including those registered since the publication of the main Return of Mares in November last year.
It reports a small growth in foal numbers in both Great Britain and Ireland during the 2017 breeding year.
The number of foals registered in Great Britain has grown to 4,778 up 2.5% from the 2016 figure of 4,663, following increases of 5.5% and 2% over the previous two years.
After seeing growth of 10% and 7% in 2015 and 2016 respectively, the number of foals registered in Ireland has risen by 3.3% in 2017 to 9,689 from 9,381 in 2016.
