Colin Tizzard's five-year-old took some notable scalps in the Grade Two contest, including David Pipe's Un Temps Pour Tout, winner of the French Champion Hurdle.

Tom Scudamore attempted to make it a real test on 6-4 favourite Un Temps Pour Tout, and it caught a few out.

Value At Risk fell at the second and Beast Of Burden made a series of mistakes before weakening and eventually falling.

Only two mattered in the straight and Brendan Powell made his challenge approaching the final fence on the eventual winner, pulling three and three-quarter lengths clear.

Powell said: "It rode like a really good race and I don't think there was any fluke about it."

Native River was given a 25-1 quote for the RSA Chase by Betfred.
